This book "Eagle Flier" by Al Cecere is a truly touching story about a group of dedicated, courageous and kind-hearted people making every effort to save and rehabilitate the eagles, hawks, owls.....and preserve these treasured bird species of our country from nearing extinction. As a Christian, the faithfulness of the Lord in helping Al and his team throughout the years in their efforts to rescue the eagles is very apparent and touching. Many tears were shed before I even finish the book. But they are tears of both joy for the eagles and sharing the pain for their injuries and being deprived of their freedom to a large degree. The heroic effort of John who "flied" (with special glider) with the one-winged eagle in high sky after it's 13 years of being grounded due to permanent wing damage just made me cry very hard. Thanks to the Lord and to Al, John, James, Bob and their team of loving people, including Dolly Parton, for rescuing our majestic eagles and hawks (and other birds) and showing us all God's enduring love and compassion. While the darkness in this side of heaven is still not over, but God's light shines even brighter in the darkness. Bravo to our Creator God and to the people who made this true story come true!

Awesome story about caring, dedication and the bond that can develop between the most unlikely creatures.

I very seldom read non-fiction and I don't care much for birds, but this book is awesome. This is the story of Challenger, a rehabilitated eagle, but also the story of those who worked to rehabilitate him and other raptors and raise environmental awareness during the past 20 years. It is a quick read but very gripping and should appeal to all, including fans of country music and baseball.
